There is a one time setup fee determined by the complexity of your website design and estimated time to complete the design. Every website is unique, so please contact us for an estimate.

Setup includes an unlimited number of pages, with the first 5 pages setup and operating within the first month after Welborn Computer Services receives your payment. The setup fee includes the graphic designs, hypertext, audio, and video encoding, programming, domain name registration fee, server hosting fee, plus up to five (5) gigabytes of file storage capacity so that you may add an awesome amount of content to your website.

INITIAL SETUP:

HOW YOUR SITE WILL LOOK

First tell me what appearance you want for your site. To start with, let me know the answers to the following questions:

  • What kind of look and feel do you want for the site? A cool, professional appearance or a personal, friendly appearance?
  • What color scheme do you prefer? A solid colored background or a blank, white background.
  • As far as layout, do you want a menu on the left (like http://baptistinfo.com) or on the top (like http://amazon.com) or on the bottom (like http://randywelborn.com)?
  • If you don't have any specific preferences in mind, let me know and I'll design the appearance of the site according to my own design preferences.
  • Choose several domain names that you would be interested in using. You may check with http://register.com just to see if the domain name is available. Let me know your choice, and I'll make the purchase for you. If you already have a domain name that you would prefer to use, you may transfer the domain name to me. Then I will change the domain name system (DNS) for you so that I will be able to upload your website.
  • If you let me know the domain name you prefer, I'll purchase the domain for you (free of charge). If you don't have a preference, let me know, and I'll select one for you. For insurance purposes, the domain name will remain in my possession, even if you should choose to terminate your account.

CONTENT AND LOGISTICS:

HOW YOUR SITE WILL OPERATE

Secondly, what do you want to accomplish with your site? Do you want to concentrate on one area in particular, like audio sermons, or do you want a generalized, well-rounded site, providing general information about your church, maps, photos, activities, etc. What is most important to you and your church which you would like to display on the front page? This includes all the content you want to provide. After making notes about what information you want to add to your site, gather all of your materials and email/mail the materials to me. Here are some suggestions for content to gather:

  • Brochures, tracts, list of events on your church calendar, etc.
  • Tapes or CDs of sermons you might have already recorded.
  • Photos from events at your products, family members, church camp, etc.
  • Tell me about other special events or classes (like AWANAS, family reunions, etc.) that you might want to mention on your site.
  • Tell me your favorite links. I'll need the URL and a description of the site.
  • There are several ways you can add the "content" material to your site. You may email materials to me, or send them to me by regular mail and I'll add them to your site. If you are able to scan images, you may do so and send them to me via email attachments. For consistency and quality of the site, it is best if the material is sent to me before adding it to the web site.

THE FUTURE OF YOUR SITE

Please tell me the vision you have for your site.  What do you hope to accomplish with this business or outreach ministry?  Are there products you wish to sell?  What do you want to add for teens, seniors, singles, etc?  Who is your customer or target audience?  How do you want the site to change over the years?  Who will ensure the continued growth of your site?  Some suggestions for growing you site:

  • For church websites, make sure there are several people in your church who can record sermons (so that in case one is absent, the other can do the recording).
  • To record sermons, get a lapel microphone for better quality recording.
  • Communication is the key to continued growth of your site. I'll communicate by email and telephone. You may feel free to call me any time at home. Contact info:
